15.61 Lakhs Seized in Action by Static Surveillance Team at Shiye-Bawda Checkpoint

Kolhapur : As part of the 2024 Assembly General Election, the Static Surveillance Team (SST) at the Shiye-Bawda checkpoint inspected 2,533 vehicles on October 31, 2024. During the inspection, a pickup vehicle (MH 46 BM 4297) was found carrying an amount of ₹15,61,857, for which the individuals involved could not produce any documentation. The amount has thus been seized, as confirmed by Assistant Returning Officer and Tehsildar (Entertainment) of Kolhapur North Assembly Constituency 276, Saipan Nadaf.

The Code of Conduct is in effect for the 2024 Assembly General Election, and vehicle inspections are being conducted by the surveillance team.

On October 31, 2024, at the Shiye-Bawda road checkpoint in front of the Chhatrapati Rajaram Factory within Kolhapur North Constituency 276, Team Leader Popat Sadhu Wadekar and his team from Static Surveillance Team No. 2 inspected a vehicle belonging to Radiant Cash Management Services Ltd., Pune. As the individuals could not provide any proof for the amount found, it was seized and securely stored in the Treasury Office. The matter has been forwarded to the Income Tax Department for further investigation.
