Accused in Sarabjit Singh Murder, Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, Killed in Lahore
Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, a key figure linked to the murder of Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh and known associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, met his demise in an apparent targeted attack in Lahore on Sunday.
Tamba fell victim to motorcycle-borne assailants who launched the attack at his residence in Sanant Nagar, a densely populated area of old Lahore, during the afternoon. Despite being rushed to a hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, police initiated an investigation and registered a First Information Report (FIR) against two unidentified assailants based on a complaint filed by Tamba’s younger brother, Junaid Sarfraz. Reports indicate that Tamba sustained bullet wounds to his chest and legs during the assault.
The killing of Tamba, a significant figure in the Sarabjit Singh murder case and with ties to a notorious terror outfit, has raised questions about security and potential motives behind the attack. Authorities continue to probe the incident in an effort to apprehend the perpetrators and uncover the circumstances surrounding the targeted assault.
