Tribal Pride Day and Inter-State Tribal Folk Dance Festival-2024
The two-day Tribal Pride Day and Inter-State Tribal Folk Dance Festival was inaugurated at Science College Ground in the capital Raipur. Folk dance troupes from different states enthralled the audience with their performances at the festival. On this occasion, tribal groups from Sikkim, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Uttaranchal, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Daman and Diu, Gujarat and Rajasthan performed traditional folk dances.

The first cultural presentation at the Folk Dance Festival was given by the Madia tribe of Chhattisgarh through the Gaur Madia dance. The Gaur Madia dance is performed by the Gaur Madia dance in the Bastar division of the Chhattisgarh state. This dance of this tribe is full of joy, lively and powerful. The folk dance troupe from the Limbu tribal community of Sikkim presented the Chasok Tangnam dance, a dance performed for the worship of nature, protection of crops and animals. The folk dance troupe from Gujarat presented the Siddi Goma dance and Rathwa dance. The dance group from Arunachal Pradesh presented Geh Padam Ae Na-Nyi.
After this, the Gond tribal group from Dindori of Madhya Pradesh mesmerized the audience with their performance of Saila-Reena dance. Saila-Reena dance and song is a multi-tribal dance. The dance troupe of Gujjar tribal community of Jammu and Kashmir received a lot of applause for their performance of the captivating Gojri dance. On the first day of Tribal Pride Day and Inter-State Tribal Folk Dance Festival, the tribal community of Uttarakhand performed Diya Baati dance, Telangana performed Mathuri dance, Uttar Pradesh performed Karma dance, Karnataka performed Sugali dance, Andhra Pradesh performed Dhimsa dance, Daman-Diu performed Tarpa dance and tribal artists of Rajasthan performed Chakri dance. Along with this, tribal artists from all districts of Chhattisgarh performed folk dances of different festivals.
There was an atmosphere of great enthusiasm among the artists as well as the audience present on the first day of the Tribal Pride Day and Inter-State Tribal Folk Dance Festival organised at the Science College Ground. The audience encouraged the tribal artists from different states by clapping on their dance.
