85 tube wells to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 water supply in Mahakumbh Mela area

Prayagraj : Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban) is working tirelessly to ensure a seamless and clean Mahakumbh 2025, following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives. To support uninterrupted water supply across the vast fair area, spread over 25 sectors, the department is installing 15 new tube wells and repairing 70 existing ones, including the complete renewal of 15.

A total of 85 tube wells will ensure 24-hour water availability during the 45-day Mahakumbh, benefiting Kalpvasis, Sadhus-Sanyasis, Akharas, and administrative camps.

Executive Engineer Amit Raj said, “The initiative, backed by a budget of Rs 11 crore, includes the installation of 30 generator sets and stabilizers to maintain steady water flow.

Additionally, a comprehensive network of pipelines is being laid to connect pumping plants with all sectors. The project is on track for completion by November 30, ensuring uninterrupted water services throughout the mega event.”

He added, “This work is also being carried out by UP Jal Nigam (Urban), Prayagraj, which will be completed by November 30 as per the instructions of CM Yogi.”
