Law and Order Machinery Alert for Wednesday’s Polling Across the State Over 2 Lakh Police and Security Personnel Deployed Statewide
532 FIRs Registered During Model Code of Conduct Period
Mumbai : Voting for the “Maharashtra Assembly Elections – 2024” will take place statewide on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. To ensure that the entire process is conducted peacefully and in a fair environment, over 2 lakh police and security personnel have been deployed across the state. This deployment includes personnel from the Maharashtra Police Force, Home Guard, Civil Defense Force, Central Armed Police Forces, State Armed Police Force, and State Reserve Police Force. All units have been instructed to remain alert and vigilant.
The Model Code of Conduct has been in effect since October 15, 2024, for this Assembly Election. During this period, 532 FIRs have been registered concerning violations of the code and election-related complaints. Among these, 210 cases relate to breaches of the Model Code of Conduct, 63 cases pertain to social media misuse, and the remaining 259 cases involve other issues.
