Strict action should be taken against irregularities related to fertilizer distribution and sale: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that a sufficient quantity of fertilizers is available in the state. Strict action should be taken against the culprits in places where complaints related to distribution are being received. If it is necessary to increase the number of distribution centres, such arrangements should be made immediately at those places. Farmers should also be encouraged to produce Kodo-Kutki. It was informed in the meeting that FIR has been registered in 71 cases of illegal storage, illegal transportation and black marketing of fertilizers in the state. Fertilizers are being continuously supplied to Madhya Pradesh by the Center as per the needs of the farmers.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the distribution of fertilizers at Samatva Bhawan Chief Minister’s residence as soon as he returned from his foreign trip on Saturday. It was told in the meeting that there were 470 fertilizer sales centers in the state last year. At present the distribution work is being done through 761 sales centers and counters in the state. The centers are being run smoothly by Marketing Association, Marketing Society and MP Agro. More than 10 thousand samples were analyzed under quality control in the state. Also 45 licenses have been suspended.

Officials should take cognizance of complaints received from social media and mass media

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that on receiving complaints about fertilizer distribution on social media and other mass media, officials of all concerned departments and agencies should take immediate cognizance and resolve the complaints. It was told in the meeting that more quantity of fertilizer has been distributed in the state than last year. Sowing of crops has been done in almost two-thirds of the area. 32.44 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers are available in the state till 28 November 2024. Of these, 21.34 lakh metric tonnes have been sold and 11.10 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer is left. Their availability in December will be around 20 lakh metric tonnes.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers in Madhya Pradesh are receiving necessary fertilizers continuously and regularly for distribution. In order to ensure that this system remains smooth in the future also, we will appeal to the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri J.P. Nadda and Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav. At present, urea is being supplied to 11 rake points by rail for various districts in the state. In the coming week, rakes of DAP, NPK and TSP including urea will come for Tikamgarh, Niwari, Rewa, Kachpura, Jhukehi, Shahdol, Itarsi, Guna, Ashoknagar, Meghnagar, Khandwa, Shajapur, Mandideep, Khandwa, Biaora, Shivpuri, Dabra, Betul etc.. Adequate arrangements have also been made for December. Full support is being received from the Central Government.

Cases registered against the culprits and innovations in the districts

The fertilizer system is being monitored in the interest of farmers. 11 FIRs have been registered against those guilty in the last 7 days. A total of 71 FIRs have been registered this season. Among these, 27 FIRs have been registered in the state against illegal hoarders of fertilizer, 17 on illegal sale, 10 on black marketing, 7 on illegal transportation, 5 on non-standard fertilizer, 3 on not selling through POS machine and 2 on sale of fake fertilizer.

This action is going on continuously across the state. In some districts of the state, innovations related to better distribution systems have been made in the interest of farmers. Samples were taken after checking fertilizer and seed shops in Kurwai of Vidisha district. Strict action was taken on complaints of black marketing in Jabalpur. Farmers were also advised to use alternative fertilizers to supply nutrients to the crops. In Chhatarpur district, FIR was registered against the guilty traders for illegal storage. Strict action has been taken against illegal traders in Agar-Malwa, Betul, Dewas, Balaghat, Burhanpur, Jhabua, Shivpuri, Mandsaur, Sheopur, Harda and Khandwa districts.

Among the innovations, the distribution system was made easier by increasing the number of counters in Tikamgarh. A guidance workshop was organized for farmers for the preparation of Rabi crop in Chhindwara.

In the meeting, Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Shri S.N. Mishra and other officers were present.

Major instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

  • Where there is delay in arrival of rail rakes in the state, deliver fertilizers by road transport.
  • The number of centers should be maximum. If necessary, distribution work should also be done by taking a rented shop.
  • On receiving complaints regarding fertilizer distribution on social media and other mass media, officials of all concerned departments and agencies should take immediate cognizance and resolve the complaints.
  • Agricultural exhibition and equipment related to modern technology will be demonstrated to the farmers.
  • Change in crop rotation should be encouraged.
  • Kodo-Kutki producers should be encouraged.
  • Natural farming should be encouraged.
  • There should be no delay in payment for food grains procured from farmers.
  • Cooperation of officials and public representatives of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh should be obtained.
  • Contact farming should also be encouraged.
  • All necessary steps should be taken in the interest of farmers.
  • Maize production should also be encouraged in the coming summer season.
