Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin Visits Cuddalore District to Oversee Cyclone Mandous Relief Efforts

Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin, personally inspected various areas in Cuddalore district affected by Cyclone Mandous on December 3, 2024. He visited relief camps, distributed essential supplies, and assessed ongoing restoration efforts to aid the affected population.

Cyclone-induced flooding in the Pennaiyar River has displaced 15,712 individuals from 4,321 families across Cuddalore district, who have been accommodated in 35 relief centers. The Deputy CM distributed rice, pulses, bed sheets, and other relief materials to affected families in multiple locations, including Samayanallur village and Chidambaram town, where he also interacted with residents to understand their needs.

Mr. Stalin surveyed areas heavily impacted by floodwaters, such as Chinnakanganguppam and Seriyakanganguppam, reviewing damage to properties and public infrastructure. In relief camps, he ensured adequate medical services were provided, instructing healthcare officials to conduct regular medical camps and supply necessary medicines.

The Deputy CM chaired a review meeting at the Cuddalore District Collectorate, discussing cyclone-related damages, disrupted power supplies, and restoration strategies with local authorities. He urged officials to expedite rehabilitation work and provide unwavering support to affected communities, emphasizing health and hygiene in flood-affected areas.

Senior ministers, MLAs, and administrative officials accompanied Mr. Stalin during the inspections.
