Jashpurnagar: Paddy procurement is happening smoothly in the district
With the increase in the price of paddy, there is a wave of happiness among the farmers due to the arrangements at the procurement centers

More than 25 crore 76 lakh 62 lakhs has been paid to 2482 farmers

Jashpurnagar : The enthusiasm of the farmers of the district has now doubled. Along with increasing the price of paddy, the government of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has also provided good arrangements for the farmers to sell paddy at the centre. Special attention is being paid to the facilities of the farmers at all the paddy procurement centres. There is a wave of happiness among the farmers due to the arrangements at the procurement centres.
Dharmeshwari Sarjal, a farmer of Kokiakhar of Farasbahar development block, expressed happiness and said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has provided good facilities of all things for all of us farmers at the paddy procurement centres, for which he thanked us very much. He also talked about providing similar facilities in the future. He told that he has brought his 150 sacks of paddy to sell at the Kokiakhar procurement centre. The Chhattisgarh government is purchasing paddy at the rate of 21 quintals per acre. Tokens and gunny bags were received from the centre on time.
It is noteworthy that under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the process of purchasing paddy in Jashpur district is continuing continuously. From 4 November till now, 14479.40 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 2482 farmers. To make payment to these farmers in lieu of paddy purchase, the Marketing Association Headquarters has paid Rs 25 lakh 76 thousand 62 thousand 560 to Apex Bank under the linking system. For this, a total of 15919.28 metric tonnes of tokens were issued till date. A total of 8324.36 metric tonnes of tokens have been issued for 1297 farmers for purchase for the next 02 days.
Food department officials said that 51169 farmers have registered for this Kharif year. This includes 6289 new farmers. This year 3,36,459.00 metric tonnes of paddy purchase is estimated through 46 procurement centers. This campaign of paddy purchase will continue till 31 January 2025.
