Advocate Rahul Narwekar Unanimously Elected as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly

Mumbai : During the special session of the Legislature, Advocate Rahul Narwekar was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the 15th Legislative Assembly.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar proposed Advocate Rahul Narwekar’s name for the position of Speaker in the Assembly. The proposal was seconded by members Anil Patil, Advocate Ashish Shelar, and Chandrakant Patil. Subsequently, interim Assembly Speaker Kalidas Kolambkar announced that the proposal for Advocate Rahul Narwekar’s election as Speaker had been approved. Advocate Rahul Narwekar was elected unopposed to the Speaker’s position.

Following Advocate Rahul Narwekar’s election, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with Assembly members Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Nana Patole, Jayant Patil, and Nitin Raut, escorted Advocate Narwekar with honor to the Speaker’s chair. All members of the Assembly congratulated Advocate Narwekar on his new role as Speaker.
