Mumbai : “It is a matter of great pride for the state and the country that a son of Maharashtra, tirelessly working for environmental conservation, has been honored with the prestigious Champions of the Earth Lifetime Achievement Award at the international level,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while congratulating renowned environmentalist Dr. Madhav Gadgil.

For decades, he has conducted relentless research in this field.
Dr. Gadgil’s work, particularly in the ecologically sensitive and biodiversity-rich Western Ghats region, has been groundbreaking and directive. It provides guidance and inspiration to all of us to preserve, protect, and conserve the environment. I am confident that Dr. Gadgil will continue to make invaluable contributions to this field in the future.”
