Bengaluru: The suicide of a 34-year-old engineer, Atul Subhash, has sent shockwaves across the nation, raising concerns over the misuse of dowry laws. Atul, employed with a private company in Bengaluru, was found hanging at his residence in the Marathahalli police station area on Monday. A 24-page suicide note left behind by him has become a focal point of a broader debate on the alleged exploitation of legal provisions.

Kumar lamented, “He was losing the case filed by his wife. He was being tortured, humiliated, and burdened with unreasonable financial demands. What happened is deeply unfortunate.” He further alleged that the legal proceedings were weaponized against Atul, pushing him to a point of no return.
