Chief Minister Launches ‘Run for Vikasit Rajasthan’ to Mark State Government’s First Anniversary
Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that the youth are the nation’s treasure and the driving force behind its progress. Speaking at the ‘Run for Vikasit Rajasthan’ event held at Amar Jawan Jyoti, he underlined that the energy, enthusiasm, and talent of the youth would propel Rajasthan to new heights. He stated, “With collective efforts, we can realize the dream of a developed India and a developed Rajasthan.”
Marking one year of the state government, the Chief Minister flagged off the marathon, symbolizing unity, determination, and a step toward the state’s development. He announced that the ‘Run for Vikasit Rajasthan’ will be held annually on December 12 to inspire youth to actively contribute to the state’s progress.
21st Century Belongs to India and Its Youth
Chief Minister Sharma referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving big dreams and milestones for a developed India. He quoted Swami Vivekananda, affirming that the 21st century belongs to India and its youth. Sharma said, “Our government is working to fulfill this vision, making it our mission.”
World-Class Sports Facilities and Youth Empowerment Initiatives
Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s athletes’ success in national and international arenas, including three medals in the Paris Paralympics. To enhance opportunities for athletes, the government is developing world-class sports facilities and has signed MoUs worth ₹15,000 crores during the Rising Rajasthan Summit for sports initiatives.
He announced that 50 talented athletes would receive world-class training under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme and shared plans to host the Khelo India National Youth Games in 2026. Additionally, the government is introducing a Sports and Youth Policy and establishing Maharana Pratap Sports University to promote sports development.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore praised initiatives like Fit India, Yoga Day, and Swachh Bharat, led by Prime Minister Modi, for promoting fitness and cleanliness. He added that under CM Sharma’s leadership, Rajasthan is working extensively for the youth, promising 4 lakh government jobs in five years and boosting private-sector opportunities through Rising Rajasthan.
Event Highlights
The Chief Minister kickstarted the marathon by releasing balloons symbolizing a developed Rajasthan and flagged off the event. He also distributed cheques and certificates to international medalists, including Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal, and Sundar Singh Gurjar.
In a display of camaraderie, CM Sharma joined the youth in the marathon, earning their admiration for his simplicity. Over 10,000 participants, including NCC, NSS, RAC, Home Guard members, and citizens, participated in the event.
Prominent attendees included MLAs Gopal Sharma and Gurveer Singh, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, DGP U.R. Sahu, senior officials, athletes, and a large number of participants.
