Tourism Minister Inaugurates Winter Festival 2024

The Winter Festival 2024, organized by the Tourism Department of the Mizoram Government, was officially inaugurated today at 2:00 PM by Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii at AR Lammual, Aizawl.

Speaking at the event, Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii expressed her appreciation for the collaborative efforts of various government departments in making the festival possible. She emphasized that beyond government initiatives, the festival also provides opportunities for local communities, individuals, and organizations to benefit economically. She further stated that the government remains committed to initiatives that support education and sustainable development while encouraging tourism through events like the Winter Festival.

Highlighting Mizoram’s growing prominence in India’s tourism sector, the Minister noted that the state holds significant potential for growth and development in tourism. She urged citizens to support and participate in such events to ensure their continued success.

The inaugural program was presided over by Dr. Lalrozama, Secretary of the Tourism Department, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and elaborated on the objectives behind organizing the festival. Pi R. Lalrodingi, Director of the Tourism Department, also delivered a vote of thanks to conclude the event.

Winter Festival 2024 will be held from December 16 to December 21, 2024. The events will take place at AR Ground, Lammual, as well as at Reiek and Hmuifang.

As part of the Winter Festival’s opening day, exhibition stalls and food stalls were set up, which attracted significant attention and appreciation from the public.
