Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis: Will dig up the roots of crime in Beed, action under MCOCA against the guilty

Judicial and SIT inquiry into the Beed incident, transfer of Police Superintendent

Judicial inquiry into the Parbhani incident; Police officers suspended

Beed : The incidents in Beed and Parbhani are unfortunate. The government has taken serious note of these incidents, and a dual inquiry, both judicial and through SIT, will be conducted in the murder case in Beed district. Similarly, a judicial inquiry will be conducted into the entire incident in Parbhani, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the Assembly today.

The Chief Minister also announced that the families of both the deceased in Beed and Parbhani will be provided with financial assistance of 10 lakh rupees each. Accordingly, the families of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, who was murdered in Beed, and Somnath Suryavanshi, who was killed in Parbhani, will be given this assistance.

In addition to the judicial and SIT inquiry into the Beed case, the district police superintendent will be transferred. A clear stance was also expressed by Chief Minister Fadnavis in the Assembly that strict action under MCOCA will be taken against the guilty, and the roots of crime in Beed district, including land mafia, sand mafia, and other types of criminal activities, will be dug out. In Parbhani, Police Officer Ashok Ghorband will be suspended, and an inquiry will be conducted regarding the excessive use of police force, he added.

Chief Minister Fadnavis was speaking while responding to a brief discussion in the Assembly regarding the incidents in Beed and Parbhani.

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that the incident in Parbhani district is extremely unfortunate. The disrespect of the Constitution of India is an insult to all Indians. Therefore, this insult will not be tolerated. The act in Parbhani was carried out by a mentally ill person. A clear medical report confirming his mental illness is also available. Therefore, in such a situation, all political parties should make efforts to reduce tension. There was no combing operation in this case. The march of the entire Hindu society in Parbhani was a multi-party march. The march had demands related to Hindus in Bangladesh. Therefore, this was not a Hindu versus Dalit riot. The Chief Minister clarified that during the vandalism in Parbhani, damage was caused to shops, vehicles, and government offices.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis further stated that a campaign will be launched to curb crime in Beed, and action will be taken under MCOCA against those found guilty in the inquiry. The Awada Green Energy Company has invested in Beed. Some people have developed the mindset of either getting the work from this company or demanding extortion. Therefore, whoever the mastermind of the Beed case may be, action will be taken against them. Even those directly or indirectly involved in this case will face action under MCOCA. The police in Beed district must also take appropriate action and verify the facts when registering criminal cases, Chief Minister Fadnavis said.
