Kannauj Police boasts being Uttar Pradesh’s first fully digital police
Lucknow : The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is making swift strides to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India Mission. On Good Governance Day, December 25, Kannauj Police became the first district in the state to fully embrace the e-office system, eliminating the clutter of thick files from all its police stations.
This marks a significant step towards smart policing, with the e-office system now in place across all police stations, CO offices, and additional offices.
Kannauj SP Amit Kumar Anand highlighted that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is committed to advancing the Digital India Mission, with major efforts underway for a modern and tech-enabled Uttar Pradesh Police.
He said, “As part of this initiative, Kannauj Police transitioned to a digital platform, replacing paper-based systems and ensuring smooth administrative operations. With this transformation, Kannauj has set a benchmark as the first district in Uttar Pradesh to implement a 100% e-office system across all police stations and offices.
The digital shift was launched at a special event, where laptops were distributed to the station in charge, jurisdictional officers, and gazetted officers.”
Superintendent of Police Kannauj, Amit Kumar Anand, shared that DGP Prashant Kumar launched the e-office system on Good Governance Day. He added, “Developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC) and based on the Central Secretariat Manual (CSMeOP), this system has been successfully implemented after strengthening the district’s digital infrastructure. All police stations and offices have been equipped with the necessary technical resources. “
He said, “The primary goal of the e-office system is to enhance transparency and efficiency in administrative operations through digital file and data management. By accelerating complaint handling and reporting, the system ensures quicker justice for the public. Digital file monitoring will also enable officers to better track progress and streamline decision-making. Furthermore, the e-office system will prevent delays in resolving pending complaints, ensuring timely and transparent reporting. It will also reduce corruption in police stations and district offices.”
Kannauj Police’s initiative has brought a new wave of hope to the public, reducing the workload of officers while providing citizens with faster and more transparent police services. This groundbreaking step serves as a model for other districts in the state to follow.
