Women moving towards empowerment through Saksham Yojana

Saksham Yojana, run under Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh, is doing important work to make women self-reliant. This scheme is playing an important role in providing financial support to needy women. The objective of the scheme is to empower widows, abandoned, divorced and unmarried women towards self-reliance.

On the first day of the new year, financial assistance of Rs 19.80 lakh was provided to the women of Bemetara district under Mahila Kosh and Saksham Yojana. In which the Women and Child Development Department provided a cheque of Rs 10.80 lakh to 14 women under Saksham Yojana and Rs 9.00 lakh to self-help groups. The women thanked Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwada and said that this scheme of the government is playing an important role in empowering us women, due to which we are becoming financially self-reliant.

It is noteworthy that Saksham Yojana is a big step towards women empowerment, under which women can start a business by getting a loan at an annual interest rate of just 3 percent. Under the scheme, a target has been set to benefit 1 thousand women of Chhattisgarh in 2024-25.
