US Ambassador Mr. Eric Garcetti meets Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai

It was my dream to come to Chhattisgarh. I had read and heard a lot about the nature of Chhattisgarh, its tourist spots and culture. I feel very good coming here today. This was said by US Ambassador to India Mr. Eric Garcetti during a cordial meeting with Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence. He said that Chhattisgarh is a peaceful and beautiful state. Now America will also become a partner in the development journey of this beautiful state.

During his meeting with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Ambassador Shri Garcetti had an in-depth discussion on promoting investment in the state, cultural aspects and economic possibilities. Chief Minister Shri Sai told him in detail about the development work being done in Chhattisgarh and the favorable environment created for investors by the new industrial policy. Shri Sai said that our state is open to global investors and large-scale development is taking place in every sector here. It is a matter of pride for us to have the cooperation of friendly nations like America.

During the discussion, Ambassador Mr. Garcetti said that Chhattisgarh is a surplus state in the field of power generation. There are immense possibilities of investment in sectors like energy, defense, logistics, IT and semiconductors here. The Ambassador said, we will work together to promote investment of various American companies in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh can become an important destination for global investors. The Chief Minister told Mr. Garcetti that all investors are welcome in Chhattisgarh and the government will provide all the necessary facilities for them.

Ambassador Mr. Garcetti said I will come to Bastar with my family

During the conversation, Chief Minister Mr. Sai told US Ambassador Mr. Eric Garcetti that our Chhattisgarh is a beautiful state. There are beautiful tourist spots nestled in the lap of nature. If you have come to Chhattisgarh, then you must visit Bastar. On the request of the Chief Minister, Mr. Garcetti said that I will definitely visit Bastar with my entire family. 

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Say and Ambassador Shri Garcetti talked on various topics. The Ambassador also asked the Chief Minister many interesting questions. Chief Minister Shri Say also talked on topics related to his public and personal life with great ease. Both of them enquired about the family members and their well-being. Both of them were sharing these things in a very friendly manner, due to which it did not seem that they were meeting for the first time. During this, the Chief Minister praised Ambassador Shri Garcetti’s Bhangra dance and his attachment towards Hindi cinema songs. On this, Shri Garcetti told the Chief Minister that we will celebrate the next Diwali together and dance. 

Know the Chief Minister’s vision regarding the development of Chhattisgarh

In a conversation with Chief Minister Shri Sai, Ambassador Shri Garcetti also talked about the Chief Minister’s vision for the development of Chhattisgarh and the challenges faced during this period. The Chief Minister told him that Chhattisgarh is a leading state with abundant reserves of mineral wealth. Many rare earth metals are also found in Chhattisgarh. It is the first state in the country to auction lithium ion. 44 percent forest area is present here. Our government is continuously working for the inclusive development of Chhattisgarh. Shri Sai informed him about the investor meet organized recently in the capital New Delhi. He said that MoUs have been signed for investment of more than Rs 50 thousand crore in the state. This is a big success of the new industrial policy of the state. The state occupies an important place geographically. Increasing rail, air and road connectivity has worked to attract investors. During this, the Chief Minister also informed him about the Mahtari Vandan Yojana being run for women empowerment. 

The Chief Minister further said that the tribal-dominated Bastar region of the state is Naxal-affected, which was a big challenge till now. Our government is running several schemes towards establishing peace in these areas and improving the living standards of the tribals. Through the Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana, the work of providing basic facilities in these remote areas is being done rapidly. With the opening of new camps, the scope of Naxalites has shrunk and the path of development is opening up rapidly. Giving information about the successful organization of Bastar Olympics, the Chief Minister said that through this, the youth, elderly, women of Bastar together not only showed their ability and sports skills but also worked to give a big message of peace. Ambassador Mr. Garcetti said that Olympic winning athletes should also be invited to the Bastar Olympics so that the world knows Bastar and Bastar can also connect with the world in that way. The Chief Minister thanked him for this beautiful gesture. Mr. Garcetti also invited the Chief Minister to participate in the Olympic Games to be held in America in 2028. 

Accepted the hospitality of the Chief Minister with a sip of tea, said I love tea 

 When US Ambassador Mr. Garcetti, who was on a visit to Chhattisgarh, met Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, he welcomed him to Chhattisgarh by presenting him a shawl and a bell metal Nandi. Following the guest tradition, when the Chief Minister asked him whether he would like to have tea or coffee, Ambassador Mr. Garcetti said that I love tea and enjoyed tea with the Chief Minister. During this, he also tasted jaggery rasgulla. The Chief Minister presented local products of Chhattisgarh Herbal as gifts to Mr. Garcetti and his colleagues.

On this occasion, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Mr. P. Dayanand, Secretary Dr. Basavaraju S, Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Ravi Mittal, Director Industries Mr. Prabhat Malik and other officials accompanying the US Ambassador were present.
