Empowerment of health services is the top priority of the government: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that strengthening health services is the state government’s top priority. He outlined the goal of providing excellent health services across the state, establishing medical colleges in every district, equipping facilities with advanced technology, and ensuring adequate health staff. He announced the approval for recruiting over 46,000 health staff and directed the timely completion of the recruitment process. Dr. Yadav highlighted that strengthening health services and education are essential for rapid development. He flagged off 66 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) under the ‘PM Janman Abhiyan’ from Samatva Bhavan, aimed at providing accessible health services to remote and inaccessible areas of the state.

There will be no shortage of resources

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav assured that there will be no shortage of resources in strengthening health services in the state. He stated that the mobile medical units would deliver essential health services, including OPD, disease diagnosis, treatment, and medicines to remote and inaccessible areas. Each unit will be equipped with trained health workers and advanced medical equipment. Dr. Yadav expressed confidence that this initiative will significantly improve health standards in Madhya Pradesh and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making the state a leader in the health sector.

The unit will reach 1268 villages in 87 development blocks

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) initiative will provide health services to approximately 3,12,246 people across 1,268 villages in 87 development blocks of 21 districts. The identified districts under the scheme include Anuppur, Ashoknagar, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Datia, Dindori, Guna, Gwalior, Katni, Mandla, Morena, Narsinghpur, Satna, Shahdol, Sheopur, Sidhi, Shivpuri, Jabalpur, Raisen, Umaria, and Vidisha.

Mobile medical units will bring revolutionary change in the delivery of health services in remote areas

Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla emphasized that the Madhya Pradesh government is working proactively to contribute for a healthy and developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He highlighted that the 66 Mobile Medical Units launched under ‘PM Janman Abhiyan’ will revolutionize health service delivery in 87 development blocks across 21 districts. Shri Shukla also noted that special efforts are being made to provide accessible healthcare in the state’s backward and remote areas, addressing long-standing gaps in health services.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla praised the excellent coordination between the Central and State Governments, attributing the progress in various sectors like irrigation, health, education, infrastructure, and industrial development to the strong leadership and progressive thinking of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He expressed confidence that with the dedication and sincere efforts of the Health Department staff, Madhya Pradesh will succeed in becoming a leading state in health standards.

Benefits of Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)

Each Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) will be equipped with a trained team consisting of a doctor, nurse, ANM/MPW, lab technician, physiotherapist, and driver. The units will offer 14 types of diagnostic facilities, 65 types of essential medicines, and 29 types of health supplies.

The Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) will provide a wide range of healthcare services, including treatment for communicable diseases, basic OPD services, and the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like TB, leprosy, malaria, filariasis, and more. They will also offer antenatal and postnatal care, identify high-risk pregnant women, and screen for diabetes, hypertension, and kidney diseases. Additional services will include care for congenital malformations in newborns, family planning, mental health and nutrition counseling, elderly care, and emergency medical services. Equipped with a GPS system for monitoring and transparency, each unit will operate for 24 days a month, treating about 50 patients daily in two villages.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Principal Secretary of Public Health and Medical Education Shri Sandeep Kumar Yadav, and MD of NHM Dr. Saloni Sidana, along with other officials, were present.
