Operation Pehchaan to ensure verification of people residing in the Mela area

Mahakumbh Nagar : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Mahakumbh Police Administration has launched 12 special security operations to ensure the safety of devotees during the mega spiritual event. The objective of these operations is to secure the Mela area and closely monitor any suspicious activities.

Following the Chief Minister’s directives, meticulous attention is being paid to the safety of every devotee visiting Prayagraj, ensuring a seamless and trouble-free experience for all attendees.

Under “Operation Sweep,” regular checks are being conducted to track suspicious individuals and objects. Meanwhile, “Operation Pehchaan” focuses on verifying the identities of people staying in the fairground. These security measures aim to provide better safety for devotees and prevent any untoward incidents in the area. The administration has decided to run this campaign continuously to ensure a safe and smooth journey for all visitors.

Special security operations at Mahakumbh

1. Operation Sweep* – Checking for suspicious individuals and objects.
2. Operation Pehchaan – Verification of people residing in the fairground.
3. Operation Intercept – Random and surprise checks.
4. Operation Seal – Sealing the district borders.
5. Operation MV – Traffic rule checks at key intersections.
6. Operation Chakravyuh – Monitoring entry and exit points thoroughly.
7. Operation Kavach – Checking suspicious individuals at main intersections.
8. Operation Box – Security checks at parking areas.
9. Operation Mahavirji – Inspection at key locations and both ends of pontoon bridges.
10. Operation Virat – Monitoring major pavilions and camps.
11. Operation Sangam – Security checks at bathing ghats and circulating areas.
12. Operation Bazaar – Inspection of marketplaces, exhibitions, and shops.

Foolproof security for every devotee: SSP

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Dwivedi of Mahakumbh Nagar said that ensuring the safety of visitors from across the country and abroad is their top priority. “Foolproof security arrangements are in place for every single devotee,” he stated.

“Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, 12 specialized security operations are being conducted continuously in Mahakumbh Nagar. Special attention is being given to suspicious activities, and strict action will be taken against anyone found engaging in such acts,” he added.
