Umagine TN 2025: Tamil Nadu’s Global Tech Summit Unveiled

The “Umagine TN 2025” Global Technology Summit was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, at the Chennai Trade Centre today (January 9, 2025).

The Chief Minister launched the two-day “Umagine TN” summit focused on emerging technologies and digital solutions. This global tech event is aligned with Tamil Nadu’s vision of becoming a $1 trillion economy by fostering innovation and collaboration with industry leaders.

The announcement for this summit was made during the 2021-2022 budget, emphasizing its importance in advancing Tamil Nadu’s digital and technological aspirations. Following the success of the “Umagine TN” editions in 2023 and 2024, this year’s summit continues to build momentum.

In this year’s event, 26 engineering colleges have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), paving the way for collaborative efforts in technology development. A grand exhibition showcasing cutting-edge technological advancements is also a highlight of the summit.

Organized by Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (ELCOT), the two-day summit features discussions on key topics such as Equitable Public Policy and Governance, Climate Impact and Sustainability, and Economic Growth and Workforce Transformation.

Panels will also address advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Tech, Climate Change, Quantum Computing, Startup Ecosystems, Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, Electric Vehicles, and more. Over 100 technology experts and 10,000 delegates from various sectors are participating.

Prominent attendees include Honorable Minister for IT and Digital Services Thiru. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, senior government officials, industry leaders like Vijayakumar from HCL Tech, Ipsita Das Gupta from HP India, and diplomats. This event underlines Tamil Nadu’s growing prominence in the global tech ecosystem.
