Four Health Facilities In Mizoram Ranked Among The Best In India

Aizawl : Among the best government health facilities in India, two District Hospitals—Siaha District Hospital and Lawngtlai District Hospital—and two Primary Health Centres (PHCs)—East Lungdar PHC and Phuaibuang PHC—have been recognized.

According to information from the National Health Mission (NHM) and the Health & Family Welfare Department, these facilities achieved high scores under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), which evaluate the quality of healthcare services. Siaha District Hospital, East Lungdar PHC, and Phuaibuang PHC received NQAS certifications for their exemplary performance. Previously, facilities such as Aibawk PHC, Thingsulthliah PHC, Civil Hospital Aizawl, Civil Hospital Lunglei, Champhai District Hospital, ITI UPHC, Chawlhhmun UPHC, Haulawng PHC, and Sialhawk PHC had also achieved similar recognition.

To earn NQAS certification, facilities must undergo rigorous assessments at both the state and national levels. Siaha District Hospital achieved a score of 92.53%, while Lawngtlai District Hospital scored 88.08%. East Lungdar PHC and Phuaibuang PHC scored 89.29% and 84.23%, respectively.

In addition to the NQAS certification, Siaha District Hospital also earned the prestigious LaQshya certification for providing one of the best maternity care and delivery facilities in India, including recognition for being an outstanding labor room and maternity OT facility. Notably, the hospital received the Platinum Certificate under the LaQshya program. Furthermore, it achieved certification under the MusQan initiative for being among the best child healthcare centers. Similarly, Lawngtlai District Hospital also received the LaQshya certification.

NHM Mizoram expressed pride in the recognition received by health facilities in the state, emphasizing the importance of these achievements for both the department and the people of Mizoram. They commended the hard work and dedication of all staff involved in ensuring high-quality healthcare services.
