Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s Balotra Visit: HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Crucial for State’s Development

Balotra : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited Balotra district on Friday to review the progress of the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery in Pachpadra. He conducted a detailed inspection of the refinery’s development works alongside public representatives, state government officials, and refinery authorities, traveling through the premises by bus. During his visit, he inaugurated a compressed air nitrogen plant powered by a high-tension motor within the refinery complex.

Critical Project for Rajasthan’s Growth
Highlighting the refinery’s importance for the development of western Rajasthan and the state as a whole, CM Sharma urged officials to expedite construction activities. He directed the swift opening of the school and hospital being built in Sambhara village through the HRRL ESC fund to benefit local communities. The CM also reviewed progress on the Rajasthan Petro Zone, being developed near the refinery by RIICO in the Borawas-Kalawa industrial area.

CM Sharma emphasized the completion of pending refinery units to enable production and revenue generation. He instructed the inclusion of local residents in refinery employment opportunities and called for strict measures to maintain law and order around the site. He also recommended developing a green belt within the refinery complex.

Innovative Facilities and Workforce Engagement
During his visit, CM Sharma inspected the Dual Feed Cracker Unit, described by officials as requiring more concrete than the Burj Khalifa’s construction. The unit, the largest plant within the refinery, employs nearly 9,000 workers. CM Sharma also toured the Coke Dome and Treating Unit, engaging with workers and learning about the project’s advanced techniques.

Plans for Comprehensive Development
The CM stressed the need to engage with companies for Petro Zone development and to act against firms delaying project completion. He directed the appointment of a special officer to review and report on refinery progress biweekly.

Additionally, he instructed the district collector to draft a comprehensive development plan for Balotra, prioritizing basic needs like water, roads, electricity, education, and healthcare.

CM Sharma planted saplings at the refinery, promoting public participation in the “Green Rajasthan” initiative. The event was attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials from the state and HRRL.
