Vivekananda Park to Emerge as a New Tourist Spot

On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani gifted Ajmer a new tourist destination. At Vivekananda Park in Kotda, he unveiled a 13-foot-tall statue of Swami Vivekananda. Situated at the city’s highest point, the park offers breathtaking views of both Foy Sagar and Ana Sagar lakes simultaneously. Designed to promote yoga and tourism, the park invites residents and tourists alike to visit, click selfies with the statue, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lakes.

Speaker Devnani had earlier instructed the Ajmer Development Authority to install this statue as part of his vision for the city’s development.

The statue, crafted from ashtadhatu (an alloy of eight metals), cost ₹73 lakh to build. After 17 years since the park’s establishment, this significant addition was made possible through Speaker Devnani’s efforts. The park is now poised to become a prominent tourist attraction and will be featured on Ajmer’s tourist map.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Speaker Devnani emphasized the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and philosophy. He praised Vivekananda for introducing the world to India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage, which earned global admiration. Vivekananda’s efforts inspired countless people worldwide to embrace Indian philosophy, traditions, and culture.

Highlighting Swami Vivekananda as a role model for youth, Speaker Devnani encouraged young people to adopt his mantra: “Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached.” He urged them to follow Vivekananda’s path for a successful and meaningful life.

The park is envisioned as a hub for inspiration, reflection, and recreation, serving as a reminder of Swami Vivekananda’s timeless contributions to Indian thought and culture.
