Chief Minister’s Udaipur Visit: Continuous Promotion of Sports in the State, ‘Khelo Rajasthan’ Organized at Subdivision, District, and State Levels

Discipline and Patriotism Fostered Through Sports – Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that patience and discipline are key to success in life, and the same applies to sports, where they become the keys to victory. Sports not only instill discipline, hard work, and social values but also evoke a sense of patriotism. The state government is making dedicated efforts to promote sports across Rajasthan. A comprehensive sports policy is being introduced, incorporating infrastructure, science, analysis, consultation, and nutrition to create a conducive environment for sports at every level. Players are being trained and encouraged at various levels to boost their morale.

The Chief Minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 37th Dangi-Patel Community Sports Competition organized by the Dangi Seva Sansthan-Sports Association Udaipur at the Kheda Kanpur sports ground in Udaipur on Tuesday. He commended the Dangi-Patel community for consistently organizing this event since 1989 and providing a platform for sports talent.

Government Initiatives to Boost Sports

The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives taken by the state government to promote sports and players. He announced the launch of the ‘Mission Olympics’ program to elevate Rajasthan’s standing in sports. Under this mission, 50 talented players are being provided with world-class training, kits, coaching, and other facilities for the Olympic Games. Facilities aligned with the central government’s ‘Target Olympic Podium (TOP)’ scheme are also being extended.

In the recently concluded Youth Festival, various competitions were held at block, district, divisional, and state levels to encourage youth participation. Under the ‘One District, One Sport’ initiative, sports academies are being established in each district. Jaipur is implementing a rehabilitation system for players with a budget of ₹15 crore. Open gyms and sports grounds are being prioritized at the Gram Panchayat level, and the allocated budget for sports will be doubled in phases.

Rajasthan’s Glorious Sporting History

The Chief Minister highlighted Rajasthan’s proud legacy in sports, including achievements in basketball, volleyball, shooting, equestrian sports, archery, athletics, sailing, kabaddi, and more. He shared that eight athletes from the state participated in the Paris Paralympics this year, winning three medals, including gold and bronze, and bringing immense pride to the state. The medal-winning Paralympians were honored with ₹5 crore each.

‘Khelo Rajasthan’ Youth Games to Reach Subdivision Level

The Chief Minister revealed that the state has requested the central government to allow Rajasthan to host the Khelo India National Youth Games in 2026. Meanwhile, ‘Khelo Rajasthan Youth Games’ are being organized at the subdivision, district, and state levels, featuring both traditional and indigenous games. The state has also requested the establishment of a National Center of Excellence and a Khelo India State Center of Excellence in Rajasthan to further nurture talent. A National Center of Excellence in Jaipur will not only encourage local athletes but also help prepare players for national and international competitions.

Employment and Recruitment Drive

Mr. Sharma shared that within a year, around 60,000 individuals have received appointment letters, 15,000 recruitments are in process, and a calendar for filling approximately 81,000 vacancies has been released. He assured the youth that no examination papers have been leaked during his tenure and that those involved in such activities have been imprisoned. He urged young people to focus on their preparation for competitive exams, assuring them of success with hard work.

The event was attended by MLA Tarachand Jain, Phoolsingh Meena, Srichand Kriplani, Udaylal Dangi, Shantadevi, public representatives, saints, senior officials, and a large gathering of citizens.
