Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Departs for Davos

Maharashtra to Participate in the World Economic Forum Investment Summit

Mumbai : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport late Saturday night to attend the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Investment Summit in Davos, Switzerland.

The summit, organized by the WEF, will take place from January 20 to 24. This marks Mr. Fadnavis’s fourth participation in the summit, having attended three times during his first term as Chief Minister. Additionally, under his leadership, Maharashtra hosted the Magnetic Maharashtra investment summits in Mumbai twice, which significantly boosted Maharashtra’s industrial investment rankings, propelling the state from fifth to first place.

This Davos visit includes a packed schedule aimed at attracting global investors. Chief Minister Fadnavis is set to meet several global leaders and industry representatives. Accompanying him on this delegation are Industry Minister Uday Samant and officials from MIDC, MMRDA, and CIDCO.

The focus of the summit will be on securing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) across key sectors such as data centers, automobiles, semiconductors, EVs, electronics, steel, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and infrastructure. This effort aligns with Maharashtra’s goal of achieving a $1 trillion economy, with a strong emphasis on bringing large-scale investments into the state. The summit also aims to generate significant employment opportunities as part of its objectives.
