Planetary Parade of 2025

By Mira Pawar.

Parades are held for various reasons, but mostly for a specific celebration. It’s a procession of people, vehicle or animals to celebrate a special event, protest or ceremony. However, a “Planet Parade” is a rare and mesmerizing event in the night sky, which creates a stunning visual display for stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts. This event provides an opportunity to observe the celestial bodies in motion.

On the 25th of January, six major planets in the solar system – Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus will form a harmonious line-up creating a gravitational and energetic pull that resonates on earth. Such alignments are rare and often seen as harbingers of new beginning. According to Dr. Shyam Balaji a researcher in astroparticle physics and cosmology at King’s college London, at least 3 planets will be located very clearly. To see this alignment, it is suggested to look towards the south-western horizon. Venus and Saturn will be the first to light up the southwest sky followed by Jupiter that will be clearly visible in the southeast. Mars will appear in the east completing the line-up of visible planets.

The planets will not exactly line-up, but they will appear in an arc across the sky due to their orbital plane in the solar system. During clear nights in January and February, all of the planets except Mercury will be visible. Jupiter will appear as a bright white disk to the naked eyes. The planet’s surface covered in bands of clouds can be seen under very dark skies. Jupiter’s Great Red Spot a massive storm that has been raging for centuries is also visible under very dark skies.

This planet parade of 2025 will serve as a powerful boost for manifestation. The alignment of these six planets will create a unique energy in the cosmos, providing an ideal moment to set intentions, focus on goals and channel the celestial power into fulfilling them. This is a period of spiritual growth, healing and self-discovery.  In a rundown of January sky-watching tips, NASA asserts “These multi-planet viewing opportunities aren’t super rare, but they don’t happen every year, so it’s worth checking it out”.

This day (25th January) is also celebrated as Shattila Ekadashi, believed to be of an immense spiritual significance dedicated to Lord Vishnu. A lot of devotees across India observe a day-long fast to seek blessings and absolution from sins.
