BJP to lose all 80 seats in UP: Akhilesh
Lok Sabha 24 : “Samajwadi Party supremo, Akhilesh Yadav, asserted on Thursday that the BJP would lose all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, including the one in Varanasi. He claimed that the anger of the country’s 140 crore population would cause the BJP-led NDA to lose 400 seats to the opposition, making the remaining 143 seats also difficult for them to secure. Yadav made these remarks while addressing a rally in support of SP candidate S.P. Patel, stating that by the seventh phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh, public discontent against the ruling party would reach its peak.
Yadav stated, ‘Earlier, I had predicted that the BJP would only retain the Varanasi seat, but it seems that even that seat is slipping out of their grasp. The saffron party will face defeat in all 80 seats in UP.’ His reference to ‘Kyoto wale’ was regarding a memorandum of understanding signed between India and Japan in 2014, aimed at transforming Varanasi into a ‘smart city’ with assistance from Kyoto.
Yadav highlighted the alliance between the SP and the Congress, stating, ‘We have joined forces, causing concern for those in Delhi.’ In an apparent response to Prime Minister Modi, who had referred to Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi as ‘shehzade’ (princes), the SP president declared, ‘We will give them ‘sheh’ and ‘maat’ (terms from chess representing victory and defeat respectively).'”
