Amount of Rs 414 crore approved for the construction and upgradation of National Highways

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed gratitude for the approval given by Union Road Transport and National Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari for the construction and upgradation of Madhya Pradesh National Highways. An approval of Rs 414 crore 84 lakh has been given to expedite the development of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that with this approval, important works will be done for the construction and upgradation of roads. Certainly, other districts along with Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar will also benefit from this. The development of Madhya Pradesh will gain momentum and citizens will get efficient traffic facilities.

It is noteworthy that Union Minister Shri Gadkari has approved Rs 414 crore 84 lakh for upgradation and construction of 2-lane with paved shoulder of Chanderi-Pichhore Road, a section of National Highway-346 (total length 55.80 km) including Chanderi, Bamor Kalan, Acharoni and Chanderi Link Bypass in Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar districts of Madhya Pradesh. National Highway-346 (total length 334.55 km) starts from its junction with National Highway-46 Agra Mumbai Road near Jharkheda which connects Berasia (SH-23), Vidisha (NH-86 Extension), Kurwai (SH-14), Mungaoli, Chanderi, Pichore and ends at Dinara on National Highway-27.

The extension of the proposed project passes through Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar districts of the state. The historic Chanderi Fort and local textile craft art centre in this region are located in Ashok Nagar district. This section passes through Chanderi, Godhan, Budhanpur, Bijrawan, Naya Gaon, Pipra Achrauni, Shivpuri, Hirapur, Naigaon and Sujwaha villages and provides inter-state connectivity with Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Implementation of the project will reduce traffic density on this section and road safety will also improve. It is worth mentioning that earlier, Rs 3,500 crore was approved for the construction and strengthening of national highway projects and an important approval has also been given to upgrade the Bhopal-Kanpur Economic Corridor to a four-lane.
