Gram Rozgar Sahayaks Play Important Role in Rural Development—State Government Will Safeguard Their Interests: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Gram Rozgar Sahayaks play an important role in rural development and in making villages self-reliant. He said their role is akin to that of Lord Hanuman. The State Government is committed to promoting the welfare and interests of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the State-Level Convention of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks held on Wednesday at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal. He said that Rozgar Sahayaks are the main driving force behind development in gram panchayats across the state. Gram Rozgar Sahayaks are playing an important role in realising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India and are the key facilitators of this important mission.
Gram Rozgar Sahayaks Lead in Use of Information Technology
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, had stated that the soul of India resides in its villages and envisioned Gram Swaraj. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi popularised the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, through which benefits under government schemes are directly transferred to beneficiaries. The credit for effectively implementing this system goes to Rozgar Sahayaks and Panchayat Secretaries. He said that while working for both the government and the public, this group demonstrates intelligence, dedication, courage and efficiency, often accomplishing tasks that appear impossible. At the grassroots level, their role is highly significant. They contribute towards ensuring that the poorest and most needy people standing at the last mile of society receive the benefits of government schemes.
Important Role of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks in Welfare of Women, Farmers, Youth and Poor
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is working with priority for the welfare of women, farmers, youth and the poor. The role of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks in the development of these sections is also exemplary. He said that Gram Rozgar Sahayaks and Panchayat Secretaries use their skills and wisdom to implement important government schemes such as Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (VBG-RAM) and to resolve various public issues.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also acknowledged the important role of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks in wheat procurement operations. He announced that procurement arrangements would be extended up to May 28, wherever necessary, for farmers who had booked procurement slots up to May 23.
Gram Rozgar Sahayaks Contributing to Success of Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is a leading state in water conservation and augmentation works. He credited Gram Rozgar Sahayaks for the state’s success in achieving the top position in this field through their dedicated efforts. He said that Gram Rozgar Sahayaks are working sincerely to make wells, stepwells (Baories), ponds and rivers more useful while motivating the public to conserve water and protect water sources.
State Government Will Address Concerns of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh Government will take necessary steps regarding the enhancement of honorarium and provision of additional facilities for Gram Rozgar Sahayaks and Panchayat Secretaries. He noted that a decision to double their remuneration had already been taken earlier. The Chief Minister further said that necessary decisions in the interest of Gram Rozgar Sahayaks would be taken after discussions with public representatives and office-bearers of the organisation.
Financial Assistance Announced for Families of Deceased Rozgar Sahayaks
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed grief over the untimely demise of two Gram Rozgar Sahayaks, Shri Meena and Shri Lakhan, who met with an accident while travelling to Bhopal to attend the convention. Praying to Baba Mahakal for peace to the departed souls, the Chief Minister announced financial assistance of ₹10 lakh each for their families. He also announced assistance of ₹1 lakh for seriously injured persons and ₹50,000 each for those who sustained minor injuries to ensure proper medical treatment.
The convention was attended by Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Employees Welfare Committee Shri Rameshchandra Sharma, General Secretary of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Shri Kuldeep Gurjar, Shri Ravi Bhatt, Shri Rakesh Pandya, and other office-bearers.
