Glasgow, July 2026 : Indian boxer Jadumani Singh Mandengbam began his Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign in commanding fashion, registering a comprehensive unanimous victory over Scotland’s Aaron Cullen in the men’s 55kg Round of 32 at the SEC Hall in Glasgow.

The Indian pugilist displayed complete control throughout the contest, outclassing his Scottish opponent with superior technique, speed and ring awareness. All five judges scored the bout 30-27 in Jadumani’s favour, reflecting his dominance across all three rounds.

Competing against a local favourite backed by a passionate home crowd, Jadumani remained composed from the opening bell. He combined sharp footwork with accurate punches and a disciplined defensive approach, denying Cullen any opportunity to gain momentum during the bout.

The unanimous verdict underlined the Indian boxer’s tactical superiority as he dictated the pace of the contest, landing clean combinations while effectively neutralising his opponent’s attacks. Cullen struggled to break through Jadumani’s defence, with the Indian consistently maintaining control in every exchange.

Lovlina, who won a bronze medal at the previous Commonwealth Games, will now aim to upgrade the colour of her medal as she prepares for her semifinal bout.
