“Phase 6: 57.70% voter turnout by 5 pm, West Bengal leads at 77.99% ; vibrant democracy in action!”

Lok Sabha 24 : Today marks the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls 2024, spanning 58 constituencies across six states and two union territories, including all the seven seats in Delhi.

Notable battlegrounds include key 14 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, 10 seats in Haryana, 8 seats each in Bihar and West Bengal, 6 seats in Odisha, 4 seats in Jharkhand, and 1 seat in Jammu and Kashmir in addition to the polls on all 7 seats in Delhi.

Key seats in this phase include the national capital New Delhi, North-East and North-West Delhi, Sultanpur and Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Anantnag-Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, Tamluk and Medinipur in West Bengal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Gurgaon, Rohtak, and Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Sambalpur in Odisha, shaping the political landscape as voters cast their ballots.”


“Originally scheduled for May 7th, today marks the rescheduled elections for the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency in Jammu and Kashmir due to unfavorable weather conditions. Additionally, 42 Odisha assembly constituencies are set to participate in the state’s third and final round of voting.”

India General Election Phase 6 Key Candidates

Dharmendra Pradhan (BJP) of Sambalpur, Odisha; Manoj Tiwari (BJP) and Kanhaiya Kumar (Congress) of North East Delhi; Maneka Gandhi (BJP) of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh; Mehbooba Mufti (PDP) of Anantnag-Rajouri (Jammu & Kashmir); Abhijit Gangopadhyay (BJP) of Tamluk, West Bengal; and Manohar Lal Khattar (BJP) of Karnal, Haryana; Naveen Jindal (Kurukshetra); and Rao Inderjit Singh (Gurgaon) are key contenders in this phase

According to Election Commission,  889 candidates representing eight States and Union Territories (UTs) will run in 58 constituencies. Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
