Women empowerment must be action-oriented, not theoretical: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that while women’s empowerment is a topic of discussion in many countries, in India, it has been a tradition of respect and reverence since ancient times. He emphasized that Indian society goes beyond theoretical commitments, actively implementing measures to strengthen women’s role in various sectors. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to ensure one-third representation for women in public offices and reiterated the Madhya Pradesh government’s provision of 35 percent reservation for women in government services. He further noted that the state is creating extensive employment opportunities for women through new industries, with special incentives for those working in the readymade garment sector. Additionally, the government is advancing education and welfare initiatives such as Ladli Laxmi Yojana and Ladli Behna Yojana, providing special support for girls’ education. Dr. Yadav also praised Sathya Sai Mahila Mahavidyalaya for securing an A+ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and commended the institution for completing 50 years of academic excellence.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Swarna Jayanti Mahotsav and Prize Distribution Programme of Sathya Sai College, BHEL Bhopal on Friday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will provide necessary support for the construction of an auditorium and IT and AI Research Lab in the College.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the world would be desolate without sisters and daughters emphasizing that respect for women are of utmost importance. He highlighted that India is setting a global example for women’s empowerment, with a tribal woman now holding the nation’s highest office as President. The government is actively ensuring dignity and enhanced facilities for women across various fields, reinforcing the nation’s deep-rooted tradition of respecting women since ancient times. He acknowledged the contributions of Pujya Sathya Sai Maharaj in promoting higher education while being deeply rooted in spirituality. He expressed joy over the establishment and growth of Sathya Sai College for Womenin Bhopal, inspired by his vision. He extended his best wishes for the grand celebrations on 23rd November this year, marking the birth centenary of Sathya Sai Maharaj in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, and other locations. Dr. Yadav praised the contributions of Sanatan Dharma’s great leaders in education and healthcare for social welfare. On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Mahotsav of the college, he congratulated the entire institution for its remarkable journey.

In the programme, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Smt. Krishna Gaur gave away awards to various talents. Initially, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed by presenting a plant. Principal Dr. Archana Shrivastava presented the progress report of the college. A large number of teachers and students including officials of Sathya Sai Organization, Shri Nimish Pandya, Shri Jammu Bhandari, Smt. Meena Pimplapure were present in the celebration.
