‘Hivali School’ a Model Initiative for the State – Deputy CM Eknath Shinde

Nashik : “Students are the future of the nation. The Hivali School is providing high-quality education to children in remote areas, which is truly commendable. This school serves as a model initiative for the state,” said Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during the inauguration of the new building of the Zilla Parishad Primary School (Wonder World Z.P. School) in Trimbakeshwar Taluka.

The event was attended by School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Food and Drug Administration Minister Narhari Zirwal, MP Bhaskar Bhagre, MLA Hiraman Khoskar, Zilla Parishad CEO Ashima Mittal, Group Development Officer Gajanan Lendi, Primary Education Officer Dr. Nitin Bachhav, Nashik Rural Development Agency Project Director Pratibha Sangamner, Deputy CEO of Zilla Parishad Varsha Fadol, Deputy Education Officer Bhaskar Kanoj, Sarpanch Maya Bagul, along with several dignitaries, students, parents, and villagers.

Deputy CM Lauds the Unique Learning Approach

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde expressed his admiration for the exceptional quality of education at Hivali School. He was impressed by the students’ ability to solve complex arithmetic problems instantly, recite multiplication tables up to 1,330, and explain articles of the Indian Constitution. He was also amazed by the students’ innovative activities, including the kitchen garden and cattle shed created by them. He praised teacher Keshav Gavit, calling him a visionary and a magician, for his dedicated teaching approach.

He encouraged other teachers to adopt similar innovative methods and assured that the government would provide necessary resources for Hivali School. He also announced that he would visit the school again in the future.

Hivali School to Be Replicated Across Maharashtra

School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse applauded teacher Keshav Gavit and his team for their dedicated efforts in educating children 365 days a year. He further announced that the Hivali School model will be expanded across Maharashtra by identifying more such innovative teachers.

The event began with a traditional tribal dance performance, welcoming the dignitaries. Deputy CM Shinde first visited the old school building and kitchen garden created by the students. Later, he interacted with students in the new building, where they showcased their educational skills. The event included a lamp-lighting ceremony and felicitations of various contributors.

Teacher Keshav Gavit was honored, along with farmer Haridas Bhusare, who donated one acre of land for the school’s new building. Both were presented with a financial assistance of ₹5 lakh. Additionally, Ramesh Iyer (Give Foundation), Vineet and Veena Majgaonkar, architect Pooja Khairnar, Mahendra Bhoye, and Pramod Bhoye were also felicitated.

About Hivali School

  • Farmer Haridas Bhusare donated one acre of land for the school’s new building, which was constructed with support from Armstrong Company and the Majgaonkar brothers.
  • The school has been operational since 2016, running for 13 hours daily, 365 days a year, with 27 enrolled students.
  • The curriculum includes academic subjects along with vocational and intellectual development activities, ensuring students spend over 12 hours daily at school.
  • Students can write with both hands simultaneously, recite multiplication tables up to 1,000, and fluently communicate in Marathi and English.
  • The school emphasizes learning Indian constitutional laws, and classrooms are designed with well-organized educational materials.
  • Despite the lack of internet access due to geographical constraints, students utilize available resources efficiently to stay on par with modern technology.
  • Many students aspire to become IAS officers, and teacher Keshav Gavit has made learning an enjoyable experience for them.
