Distribution of Dhanvantari Awards
Mumbai – Prime Minister Narendra Modi established the Union Ministry of AYUSH to promote Ayurveda and yoga. For the effective dissemination of its initiatives, public participation is essential, stated Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav.
He was speaking at the Dhanvantari Award distribution ceremony and the concluding event of the first phase of the ‘Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan’ campaign, held at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA. The event was attended by Public Health Minister Prakash Abitkar, AYUSH Ministry Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Chairman Vaidya Jayant Devpujari, Padma Shri awardee Devendra Triguna, Vaidya Rakesh Sharma, campaign secretary Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Sachidanand Prasad, and other dignitaries.
Union Minister Jadhav highlighted that the ‘Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan’ campaign was launched on November 26, 2024, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first phase of this initiative was successfully completed on December 25, 2024. During this period, students from Ayurvedic colleges conducted extensive health assessments across the country.
As part of the campaign, several Guinness World Records were achieved, including the highest number of health pledges taken in a month, a week, and 24 hours. Additionally, the world’s largest online photo album of individuals displaying digital certificates and wearing pin badges was created, along with the largest video album of people reciting the same pledge.
To expand the reach of the AYUSH Ministry and promote Ayurveda, the observance of Dhanvantari Day has been initiated. Moreover, efforts are underway to establish AYUSH medicine centers, similar to generic medicine centers. The ministry is also exploring the integration of AI in its future operations, Minister Jadhav stated.
Recognition of Achievements in Ayurveda and AYUSH Promotion
Congratulating the Dhanvantari awardees and other recipients of AYUSH Ministry honors, Public Health Minister Prakash Abitkar emphasized the global promotion of Ayurveda and yoga. He also mentioned that the state budget would allocate funds for the development of AYUSH and Ayurveda.

- Vaidya Sameer Govind Jamdagni
Each recipient was honored with a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, a commemorative trophy, a kalash (sacred pot), and a certificate of recognition.
Guinness World Record Achievements During the Campaign:

- Highest number of health pledges taken in a week
- Highest number of health pledges taken in 24 hours
- Largest online photo album of individuals displaying digital certificates or wearing pin badges
- Largest online video album of individuals reciting the same pledge
The Guinness World Record certificates for these achievements were presented to Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav during the event.
Additionally, states and Ayurvedic colleges that excelled in the ‘Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan’ campaign were honored with commemorative plaques.
The event commenced with an introductory speech by Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, while Sachidanand Prasad delivered the vote of thanks.
