“Naidu’s Swearing-In Postponed to June 12 for Grand Ceremony in Amaravati”

The swearing-in ceremony of N. Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is expected to be postponed to June 12. Initially scheduled for June 9, the ceremony is being rescheduled due to Narendra Modi’s swearing-in as Prime Minister on June 8. To attend Modi’s inauguration, Naidu plans to move his oath ceremony to June 12, as reported by Srikanth Aluri.

Naidu participated in the NDA partners’ meeting at Modi’s residence on Wednesday. He is scheduled to visit Delhi again on June 7 for another NDA meeting. It is anticipated that the Union Cabinet will be decided on the same day, allowing ministers to be sworn in on June 8.

Naidu has chosen to take the oath in Amaravati, his visionary capital project abandoned by the YSRCP government. The TDP intends to host a grand ceremony, with Naidu extending invitations to Modi and other NDA leaders.

The TDP achieved an impressive victory, securing 16 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the BJP, contesting in six seats, won three, and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party emerged victorious in two seats.

With the BJP falling short of the 272-seat mark in the Lok Sabha, JDU chief Nitish and Naidu now have leverage to present their demands to the ruling party’s high command. The TDP and the JD(U) are the NDA’s largest and second-largest allies, with 16 and 12 seats, respectively.

The TDP is expected to demand the Speaker’s post, along with special status for Andhra Pradesh and additional funds to resume the stalled development of the capital in Amaravati.
