State Education Board’s Clarification on SSC Exam Paper Leak Reports
Mumbai – The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune, has clarified reports regarding an alleged paper leak in the SSC (Class 10) exam, which commenced on February 21, 2025.

On the first day of the exam, Marathi (First Language) papers were scheduled in the morning session. Reports surfaced that the Marathi paper was leaked at Zilla Parishad High School, Badnapur (Exam Center No. 3050), Jalna District, and that the question paper had been circulated via mobile phones at Mahagaon and Kothari exam centers in Yavatmal District. Additionally, there were reports concerning the Zilla Parishad School, Talni (Exam Center No. 3436), Jalna District.
Factual Clarification on the Reports:
- Jalna District (Exam Center No. 3050, Badnapur):
- A visit to the exam center and an inspection of the original Marathi question paper revealed that the two pages circulating in the media did not belong to the official exam paper.
- The leaked content was from a private publisher’s material, not from the board’s question paper. Additionally, some handwritten notes containing questions and answers from the exam were found.
- This indicates that the exam paper was not leaked; rather, certain questions and answers were intentionally circulated to mislead students.
- The district administration has been directed to conduct a detailed inquiry and take strict action against those responsible.
- Yavatmal District (Mahagaon and Kothari Exam Centers):
- Some media reports claimed that the Marathi (First Language) paper was leaked via mobile phones.
- Upon investigation, it was found that the original question paper was not leaked; instead, it was circulated as part of an attempt to manipulate the exam process.
- Criminal charges have been instructed against the culprits involved in this misconduct.
- Jalna District (Exam Center No. 3436, Talni):
- Before the exam, a large number of parents had gathered outside the exam center, leading to congestion.
- Police intervention was necessary to clear the area before the exam started.
- However, the exam was conducted smoothly, and no malpractice or paper leak occurred, as confirmed by Devidas Kulal, Secretary of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
The Education Board urges students, parents, and media outlets not to believe in false reports and assures that strict action will be taken against those attempting to disrupt the examination process.
