Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin inspected and inaugurated these infrastructural developments at Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) in Chennai.

The Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has been consistently working towards realizing the vision of making Tamil Nadu the leading state in India through the Dravidian model of governance. Following the principles of Periyar, Anna, and Kalaignar, the government is committed to transforming Chennai into a globally recognized technology hub. Rajiv Gandhi Salai, also known as the IT Corridor, is home to numerous IT companies and continues to attract thousands of enterprises, strengthening Tamil Nadu’s leadership in the tech sector.

‘U’ Shaped Flyover

To enhance traffic flow and improve connectivity, the Hon’ble Chief Minister initiated several road infrastructure projects. As part of this, a ‘U’ shaped flyover costing ₹27.50 crore has been constructed at the junction near Tidel Park to ease congestion. Additionally, a foot overbridge costing ₹11.30 crore has been built to facilitate pedestrian movement from Thiruvanmiyur MRTS railway station to the western service road of Rajiv Gandhi Salai.

The newly constructed 510-meter-long and 8.50-meter-wide flyover includes 16 spans, with one entry and exit ramp each at Rajiv Gandhi Salai and CSIR Road. This infrastructure will enable vehicles traveling from Thiruvanmiyur towards Medavakkam and CSIR Road to bypass the traffic signal at the Tidel Park junction.

Foot Overbridge

A new 155-meter-long and 5.25-meter-wide foot overbridge with escalators on both ends has been constructed over West Avenue Road, providing a safe passage for pedestrians traveling between Thiruvanmiyur MRTS railway station and Rajiv Gandhi Salai. This structure is integrated with the existing pedestrian bridge, ensuring smooth access to the IT corridor and surrounding business hubs.

The inauguration event was attended by Hon’ble Minister for Public Works Thiru. E.V. Velu, Hon’ble Minister for Transport and Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Thiru. S.S. Sivasankar, Member of Parliament Tmt. Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Members of the Legislative Assembly Thiru. M.M.H. Shahjahan and Thiru. A.M.V.
