State-Level Science Competition Prize to be Increased Soon – Minister of State for School Education Pankaj Bhoyar
Nagpur : The state government is committed to encouraging students to excel in the field of science alongside their academic curriculum. Announcing an increase in prize money, Minister of State for School Education Pankaj Bhoyar stated that the first prize in the state-level science competition will soon be raised to ₹51,000.
He made this announcement during a special program held at Prof. Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory in Dharampeth on the eve of National Science Day. The event was attended by Dr. Seema Ubale, Director of the Exploratory, Ulhas Aurangabadkar, Hemant Chafle, school principals, teachers, and students.
Government’s Commitment to Educational Reforms
Highlighting the state’s efforts to bring positive changes in the education sector, Bhoyar emphasized that the implementation of the New National Education Policy (NEP) will bring significant improvements to India’s education system. The policy is designed with a student-centric approach, and Maharashtra will ensure its effective implementation at the state level.
The Education Department is actively working on promoting students’ interests beyond their regular curriculum. Encouraging students in the field of science is a key focus, and the department is considering increasing the first prize in the state-level science competition from ₹5,000 to ₹51,000. The decision will soon be officially announced and implemented.
The minister expressed confidence that such initiatives will inspire young students to pursue careers in science, fostering the development of future scientists.
Recognition of Young Scientists
Prior to the event, Minister Bhoyar visited the science exhibition and observed various student projects on display.
Students Afiya Aftab, Kirti Yenurkar, and Aditya Ranjan, who performed exceptionally well in the Dr. Homi Bhabha Science Centre’s Young Scientist Competition in Mumbai, were felicitated by the minister.
The event was conducted by Dr. Seema Ubale, while Hemant Chafle delivered the vote of thanks.
