Challaning Action Conducted Near Bus Stands and Schools

As per the directives of the Collector and under the guidance of Chief Medical & Health Officer Avinash Khare and District Program Officer Dr. Pushpendra Soni, enforcement action was carried out in Manendragarh block to ensure compliance with the COTPA Act 2003.

A total of 11 challans were issued under Sections 4 and 6 of the act against violators, particularly around bus stands and schools, targeting pan shops, wholesale grocery stores, and other establishments. The violators were penalized for non-compliance, and awareness was raised about the harmful effects of cigarettes and tobacco products. Shopkeepers were also advised to strictly follow COTPA regulations.

The enforcement team was led by Dr. Kirti Chauhan (District Nodal Officer, NTPC), Dr. Vicky Toppo, Alok Minz, and Food Inspector Vinod Kumar Gupta, with participation from members of the police and health departments.
