CM Vishnu Deo Sai Honors Women Journalists

Women Journalists Share Experiences and Challenges, Enjoy Lunch and Selfies with CM

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai honored women journalists at the “Mahatari Vandan Abhinandan” event held at the Chief Minister’s residence. During the program, senior women journalists engaged in an open discussion about the role of women in the media.

The journalists emphasized that women can excel in all fields, including politics, crime, and sports journalism, provided they receive equal opportunities. They also appreciated the government’s initiative to build hostels for working women, which would provide a safe environment for women working away from home. This initiative, they said, would ease parental concerns about their daughters’ careers.

Additionally, the journalists expressed gratitude to CM Sai for increasing the journalist honorarium from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000, calling it a significant step in support of media professionals.

Women journalists were delighted to attend the felicitation ceremony at the CM’s residence, stating that it felt like “a father welcoming his daughters home.” They described the initiative as a historic moment for women in journalism. This was the first-ever special event of its kind held in the state on International Women’s Day.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai acknowledged the crucial role of women in shaping society, emphasizing that women journalists contribute significantly to social transformation through their writing.

The journalists enjoyed lunch and took selfies with the Chief Minister, who assured them that the government is committed to supporting women journalists and is considering new initiatives for their welfare in the future.
