Police Team Attacked While Resolving Dispute in Bhagalpur, SI and Four Others Injured
Bhagalpur, Bihar: A minor altercation between children escalated into a violent clash in Kasdi village under the Antichak police station area of Bhagalpur district on Friday evening. When the police intervened, they were attacked by an enraged mob, leaving a sub-inspector (SI), three constables, and a watchman injured.
The incident occurred around 7 PM, when a fight between children turned into a heated confrontation between their families. As tensions rose, a police patrol team reached the scene to restore order. This quickly escalated as a larger crowd joined in, pelting bricks and stones at the officers.
In the attack, the SI, three constables, and a watchman sustained serious injuries, and a police vehicle was also damaged. To regain control, additional police forces were deployed to the area. The injured personnel were rushed to Kahalgaon Hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, an FIR was registered based on a statement by Magistrate Sanjeev Chaudhary. Authorities have launched a manhunt to arrest the culprits, with raids being conducted in multiple locations.
Antichak police station in-charge Ashutosh Kumar confirmed the attack, stating that the police were trying to resolve the fight when the mob suddenly turned violent. He assured that the accused are being identified and will be arrested soon.
