Panigrahan Sanskar is the Most Significant of the 16 Rituals: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that Panigrahan Sanskar (the sacred wedding ritual) is the most significant among the 16 sacraments of life. At a mass wedding event in Alirajpur, he blessed 1,369 newlywed couples, under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, where ₹7.52 crore was distributed as Kanyadan.

Addressing the grooms, CM Yadav said, “We are entrusting you with the pride of our homes—our daughters. Taking care of them is now your responsibility.” He instructed the Alirajpur Collector to submit proposals for a 220 kV grid, Kakrana Ghat, and a girls’ sports complex, ensuring their prompt approval. The Chief Minister also welcomed the newlyweds’ families with a shower of flower petals.

Alirajpur’s Natural Beauty and Irrigation Development

Praising Alirajpur’s natural beauty, CM Yadav highlighted the impact of Narmada dam projects in expanding irrigated land and improving economic prosperity. He recalled that in December 2024, the ₹2,000 crore Sondwa Lift Irrigation Project was sanctioned, benefiting 169 villages. He remarked, “When thirsty fields get water, farming will flourish like gold.”

Economic Growth Initiatives

Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting farmers with wheat procurement at ₹2,600 per quintal, a ₹175 per quintal bonus for wheat farmers, a ₹5 per liter bonus on milk procurement, and a goal to increase Madhya Pradesh’s milk production from 9 to 20 per cent.

Inclusive Development through District Development Committees

CM Yadav announced plans to form a District Development Committee, ensuring local leaders and businessmen contribute to inclusive growth.

Diamond Refinement and Employment Opportunities

Dr. Yadav revealed plans to establish diamond-refinement units in Alirajpur instead of Gujarat, allowing skilled workers to find employment locally. He emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is the only state in India with diamond mines, and efforts are underway to refine diamonds within the state.

Additionally, he stressed the promotion of agriculture-based industries to create more employment.

Welfare and Infrastructure Development

CM Yadav highlighted initiatives under the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana, including Permanent housing under PM Narendra Modi’s housing scheme, Water and electricity access to remote hamlets, ₹1,250 per month transferred to 1.25 crore women under the Ladli Behna Yojana, Financial aid for farmers through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, and New industrial projects being established.

Grand Welcome for the Chief Minister

CM Yadav was welcomed with a traditional tribal dance, drumbeats, and a shower of flowers. Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan and MP Anita Chauhan presented him with a bouquet, a handcrafted portrait, tribal artwork, a bow and arrow, and a traditional jacket as a mark of respect.

The event was attended by District Panchayat President Smt Hajari Bai Kharat, Janpad President Smt Sunita Inder Singh Chauhan, Shri Santosh Maku Parwal, the families of 1,369 newlyweds, and a large number of citizens.
