Grand Celebration Planned for Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti – CM Devendra Fadnavis

Instructions Issued to Ensure No Inconvenience to Devotees

Mumbai : A grand celebration will be organized on April 14, 2025, to mark the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Lakhs of people from across the country are expected to visit Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai to pay their respects. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed all concerned departments, including the police and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), to work in coordination to ensure a grand and well-organized celebration with all necessary facilities in place.

A preparatory review meeting for Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary was chaired by CM Fadnavis at Sahyadri Guest House. Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, MLA Sanjay Bansode, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, and other senior officials attended the meeting.

CM Fadnavis emphasized that no devotee visiting Chaityabhoomi should face any inconvenience. Railways, the BMC, Home Department, and the Department of Social Justice must work together to ensure seamless arrangements. Police must take preventive measures to avoid overcrowding and ensure public safety. Cleanliness and hygiene must be strictly maintained in the Chaityabhoomi area.

Given the summer heat, shade structures and proper amenities must be arranged for the devotees. Adequate drinking water should be made available. Traffic police must regulate movement around Dadar and display directional signage. The BEST undertaking has been directed to operate sufficient bus services between Dadar Station and Chaityabhoomi for public convenience.

Discussions were also held on a police guard of honor, floral tributes by helicopter, emergency services at Shivaji Maharaj Ground, exhibition pavilions, decorations around the Chaityabhoomi Stupa, and a special edition of the ‘Lokrajya’ magazine. BMC presented its detailed action plan during the meeting, where a poster of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was also unveiled.

Senior officials, committee representatives, and members of the Chaityabhoomi Memorial Committee were present at the meeting.
