Notification Issued for Formation of 532 New PACS in Chhattisgarh
Farmers to Get Access to Agricultural Loans, Fertilizers, Seeds, and Micro-ATM Withdrawals in Their Own Villages
Raipur : Chhattisgarh is now among the leading states in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation.” Following the vision of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the state has developed an action plan for establishing new multipurpose PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies), dairy, and fishery cooperatives. Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has issued a notification today, April 4, 2025, for the formation of 532 new PACS societies across the state.
Commissioner of the Cooperative Department, Shri Kuldeep Sharma, stated that under the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, and Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, the formation of these 532 PACS has been accomplished.
It is noteworthy that during the first meeting on ‘Prosperity through Cooperation’ held in Raipur on August 25, 2024, Union Minister Amit Shah had emphasized increasing the number of PACS in Chhattisgarh and ensuring their outreach to every village. This recent decision fulfills that goal.
With the establishment of 532 new cooperative societies across various villages in the state, farmers will now have access to agricultural loans, fertilizers, seeds, and cash withdrawals through micro-ATMs right in their own villages. These new PACS will also host Common Service Centers, Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and Farmer Prosperity Centers, ensuring that farmers receive all essential services locally.
