Chief Minister Holds Review Meeting on Recruitment Exams – Providing Employment to Youth is a Top Priority: CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Over 67,000 Appointments Made So Far; Recruitment for Over 1.88 Lakh Posts Underway
Jaipur – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that providing employment opportunities to youth and helping them realize their dreams is the highest priority of the double-engine government. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all recruitment processes are completed in a fair, transparent, and timely manner. He noted that in just over a year, the state has organized five job fairs and facilitated appointments for over 67,000 posts. Such fairs will now be held every three months to continue providing employment opportunities.
Chairing a review meeting at his residence on Friday regarding pending and ongoing recruitment processes, the Chief Minister stated that recruitment is in progress for over 1.88 lakh posts across various departments. He instructed officials to expedite all procedures — from issuing recruitment advertisements to conducting exams, declaring results, and verifying documents — by deploying additional personnel and resources wherever needed to ensure timely appointments.
Progress on 9,800 Court-Pending Posts
CM Sharma further mentioned that the state government has made significant progress in advancing the recruitment process for nearly 9,800 posts that had long been stalled due to legal proceedings. He directed officials to conduct a thorough legal review of other pending recruitment cases in court and ensure their swift resolution to shorten the waiting period for youth seeking employment.
Recruitment Should Align with Future Requirements
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of aligning recruitment with the future human resource needs of a developed Rajasthan. He urged all departments to anticipate upcoming vacancies and base their recruitment accordingly. He also instructed that all recruitment processes be conducted in a time-bound and transparent manner, adopting a mission-mode approach.
Timely Conduct of Recruitment Exams
Shri Sharma emphasized that for a healthy democracy, it is essential that public trust in elected representatives remains strong. The government is committed to fulfilling every promise in the manifesto within set timelines. He called for better coordination among departments to ensure timely recruitment and proposed a unified eligibility criterion for similar posts across departments to avoid duplication of exams, which consume additional time, effort, and resources.
He also directed officials to create new posts and expedite recruitment in newly formed districts. To address the shortage of examination centers for large-scale recruitment exams, he instructed that unused college buildings be converted into examination venues.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri Abhay Kumar (Water Resources), Shri Akhil Arora (Finance), Smt. Aparna Arora (Forest, Environment & Climate Change), Shri Shikhar Agarwal (Chief Minister’s Office), Shri Kuldeep Ranka (Social Justice & Empowerment), Smt.
