Lucknow : The divine lands of Uttar Pradesh, home to Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Baba Vishwanath, and Maa Vindhyavasini, witnessed an overwhelming surge of devotion during Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami. Devotees thronged temples such as Vindhyavasini Dham in Mirzapur, Devipatan Temple in Balrampur, Shakumbhari Devi Temple in Saharanpur, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi, Budhiya Mata and Tarkulha Devi Temples in Gorakhpur, and Alopi Devi Temple in Prayagraj. All 75 districts in the state saw large turnouts. Following CM Yogi Adityanath’s directions, the administration ensured uninterrupted facilities including drinking water, shaded waiting areas, sanitation, and transportation like city buses and e-carts.

CM visits several temples during Chaitra Navratri
On March 27, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at Maa Vindhyavasini Dham. During his visit to Bareilly on April 1, he performed Gau Seva at Nawabganj Gaushala. On April 3, while in Varanasi, he paid homage at the ancient Shri Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav Temples. On April 4–5, he stayed in Balrampur and offered prayers at Maa Pateshwari Devi Temple. On April 5–6, the CM visited Gorakhnath Temple for Kanya Pujan and worshipped the divine feminine form. Ahead of Navratri, on March 26, he also visited the ancient Dariya Nath Temple in Raja Ki Mandi, Agra.
Akhanda Ramayana recitations take place on Ashtami and Navami
CM Yogi Adityanath, in a recent meeting, instructed the organisation of Akhanda Ramayana recitations across the state. In response, 24-hour recitations were held during Ashtami and Navami at temples in all 75 districts including Lucknow, Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, and Agra. These events featured local artists and saw enthusiastic participation from the public.
Enhanced facilities at temples as per CM’s directives
Acting on the clear directives of CM Yogi Adityanath, the local administration ensured that all arrangements at major temples—such as Devipatan Temple in Balrampur, Shakumbhari Devi Temple in Saharanpur, and Vindhyavasini Dham in Mirzapur—were aligned with the needs of the massive influx of devotees. Extensive preparations were carried out to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for pilgrims. These included jute matting for long queues under the sun, provision of clean drinking water, shaded waiting areas, and enhanced cleanliness throughout temple premises and surrounding zones. To maintain hygiene standards, additional sanitation workers were deployed across all key locations.
