Essential Facilities Must Be Provided to Farmers: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar
Deputy CM Reviews Progress of Development Works
Baramati : Emphasizing the need to provide all essential amenities to farmers, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar instructed that the newly established Silk Cocoon Purchase and Sale Market, Post-Cocoon Processing Demonstration and Training Centre under the Agricultural Produce Market Committee should focus on equipping the facility with necessary resources. He directed that the benefits of these amenities should reach the maximum number of farmers.
Deputy CM Pawar visited and reviewed the development works at the Silk Cocoon Purchase and Sale Market cum Post-Cocoon Processing Demonstration and Training Centre, Sharada Prangan School, Vasantrao Pawar Auditorium, and the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Guest House. He also gathered updates from the concerned officials.
Present during the visit were Regional Silk Assistant Director Kavita Deshpande, MSEDCL Chief Engineer Dharmaraj Pethkar, Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biradar, District Silk Officer Sanjay Phule, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dr. Sudarshan Rathod, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Amol Pawar, Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department Digambar Dubal, Tehsildar Ganesh Shinde, Group Development Officer Anil Bagal, and Chief Officer Pankaj Bhuse, among others.
Considering the movement of citizens in the area surrounding the Vasantrao Pawar Auditorium, the Deputy CM instructed that safety measures such as installation of electric transformers and protective boundary walls be undertaken. He also directed improvements to seating arrangements, stairways, and parking areas, with specific attention to the needs of senior citizens and young children, including the installation of floor tiles.
For the Sharada Prangan School, Pawar emphasized adherence to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) norms and ensuring all required basic infrastructure for students.
He also instructed that the department logo be placed on the façade of the MIDC Guest House and that termite-resistant pesticides be applied to all wooden furnishings.
The Deputy CM noted that various development projects are underway in the taluka and advised the concerned officers to ensure that all public infrastructure projects are of high quality, durable, and completed within stipulated timeframes.
