Chief Minister Holds Key Meeting on Jaipur Metro Phase-2

Directs Route Determination Based on Public Convenience, Metro Expansion to Strengthen Traffic Management in Jaipur

Jaipur : On Thursday, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma held an important review meeting regarding the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Metro Corridor (Phase-2). He instructed officials to ensure that metro stations are established from Sitapura to Ambabadi and Vidyadhar Nagar, keeping in mind future requirements and public convenience.

He stated that Jaipur is a historic and rapidly growing city, and the metro expansion will play a crucial role in balancing the increasing population and traffic pressure. The state government’s intention is to develop a seamless and modern transportation system for the residents of Jaipur, making the city a model for smart cities nationwide.

Mr. Sharma emphasized that the project cost and expenses for Metro Phase-2 should be properly assessed to ensure the optimal utilization of financial resources and the provision of better transportation facilities for the public. During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the proposed route, estimated cost, project feasibility, and the financial model of the metro DPR.

Create Metro Stations Near Railway Stations and Airports
The Chief Minister gave clear instructions to the officials to prioritize public convenience while determining the metro route. He said that metro stations should be built at accessible locations for the general public, and stations near railway stations and airports should also be ensured to maximize the utility of the metro system.

During the meeting, the officials gave a detailed presentation on the metro project. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Finance Mr. Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (CM) Mr. Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary (CM) Mr. Alok Gupta, CMD of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Mr. Vaibhav Gahlaria, Jaipur Development Authority Commissioner Mrs. Anandi, and officials related to Jaipur Metro.
