Great Opportunity to Boost Maharashtra-UAE Agri Trade – Minister Jaykumar Rawal

Mumbai : The United Arab Emirates (UAE), a key member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), is a major importer of agricultural products, and India is one of its leading food and agri-trade partners. Maharashtra, with its diverse and high-quality agricultural produce and excellent transport infrastructure, has a significant opportunity to expand agricultural trade with the UAE, said Minister of Marketing and Protocol, Jaykumar Rawal.

A meeting was held at the Sahyadri Guest House with representatives from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the Consul General of the UAE, Abdullah Almarzooqi. Principal Secretary Praveen Darade and other senior officials were also present.

Minister Rawal stated that the strong bilateral ties between India and the UAE, the large Indian diaspora there, and the growing demand for quality food products offer a golden opportunity for Indian agri-producers and exporters. He emphasized that fruits, vegetables, grains, and processed food items from Maharashtra are in high demand in the UAE. He expressed confidence that agricultural trade relations between Maharashtra and the UAE will become even stronger in the near future.
