PGRS System to be Launched Soon at CM Secretariat for Action on Public Petitions.
Nagpur : To ensure prompt action and transparency regarding public petitions and representations received at various events and at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat—Hyderabad House in Civil Lines, Nagpur—a new online system called the Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS) will soon be implemented. The system will allow petitioners to receive SMS updates on the status of their applications. A detailed presentation on this initiative was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The Maharashtra state government aims to provide swift relief to citizens by integrating technology into administrative processes. In line with this vision, the PGRS system has been developed to handle petitions, applications, and complaints related to various departments and issues during CM Fadnavis’s visits and at the Nagpur CM Secretariat. Asha Pathan, Special Officer at the CM Secretariat, gave a comprehensive presentation on how the online system will function.
Under this system, incoming petitions and complaints will be categorized department-wise and issue-wise. These documents will be scanned and electronically forwarded to the relevant departments for necessary action. Petitioners will be notified of each step via SMS, including confirmation that their petition has been resolved. Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed satisfaction with the system and confirmed that it will soon be made available for public use.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Singhal, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, Nagpur Improvement Trust Chairman Sanjay Meena, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, MahaMetro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, along with senior officials from departments such as Public Works, Land Records, and Social Welfare.
